Another Federal Court Victory in Connecticut for Melick & Porter

Congratulations to Melick & Porter Connecticut attorneys Holly Rogers and Alex Ahrens for another decisive win! They successfully persuaded a Federal judge to dismiss claims by a high school football player and his parents, who claimed the boy had been bullied and harassed because of his special education needs. The Court agreed that the plaintiffs could not establish a causal connection between the alleged mistreatment and the player’s disabilities or demands for accommodation, and dismissed their claims for discrimination and retaliation. Having disposed of the Federal law claims, the Court refused to exercise jurisdiction over the remaining state law claims, and dismissed the entire case.
