The plaintiff sought over $500,000 in damages arising from a house fire in Richmond, MA, which the plaintiff alleged was caused by a negligently installed chimney. Rick and Chris argued there were flaws in the methodology of the plaintiff’s cause and origin expert, and that the cause of the fire was undetermined. The jury deliberated for two hours before finding that the installation of the chimney was not the proximate cause of the fire, and awarding no damages to the plaintiff
