Mike Winters participated in the Run to Home Base 9K, an event that honors heroic veterans and raises money for the Red Sox Foundation and the Massachusetts General Hospital Home Base Program. The run through Boston ended with a once-in-a-lifetime experience of crossing home base at Fenway Park. Funds raised for the Home Base Program will provide psychiatric care and community outreach to the many veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan with combat stress disorders and/or traumatic brain injury and their families.
