Dan Foster serves as Senior Counsel in the firm's Southbury, Connecticut, office. Before joining Melick & Porter, Dan served as an attorney for the City of Waterbury, Connecticut, where he tried over twenty cases to verdict. Dan has also argued nearly fifty appeals in the Connecticut Appellate and Supreme Courts and in the Second Circuit. Dan's prior experience includes six years as senior counsel with a non-profit organization, working primarily with justice sectors in the developing world and nations emerging from conflict, and fours years as as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Connecticut School of Law teaching Lawyering Practice (Moot Court). Dan began his career as a law clerk to Chief Justice William J. Sullivan of the Connecticut Supreme Court and as an associate in a large Connecticut law firm.
