Alex is an associate at Melick & Porter’s Providence office and joined the firm in 2016.  Prior to joining Melick & Porter, Alex served as a judicial law clerk for the Rhode Island Supreme Court Law Clerk Department, and worked for five years in insurance defense and private litigation practice.  Alex has experience litigating in professional negligence defense, products and commercial liability, business and employment disputes, general liability, insurance coverage, and toxic tort/asbestos defense.  At Melick & Porter, Alex’s practice focuses on toxic tort defense, general liability, and employers’ liability.

Alex represents manufacturers of a variety of products including pumps, valves, boilers, automotive and naval equipment in asbestos and toxic tort litigation.

Alex also counsels and represents employers in discrimination, wrongful termination, and whistleblower act violation claims in federal and state courts as well as before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and Rhode Island Commission for Human Rights.

Alex is a magna cum laude graduate of both Providence College and Quinnipiac University School of Law, where he attended under a Dean’s Fellows full tuition merit scholarship.  Away from the office, Alex enjoys breath-hold freediving, fishing, skiing, carpentry, photography, and spending time with his wife and family.
