John is an experienced litigator with a proven track record of success. He routinely represents insurance carriers, their policy holders and self-insureds on a variety of matters. He has successfully represented clients at the trial and appellate level. Rhode Island Lawyers Weekly featured John for his work on Hexagon v. Carlisle & McKenna, where the Rhode Island Supreme affirmed summary judgment in favor of a subcontractor in a construction dispute.
John actively represents employers across a wide range of industries in the defense of employment discrimination claims at both the administrative level and in the state and federal courts of Rhode Island.
He also litigates a wide range of insurance defense matters including premises liability claims brought against a variety of landowners including supermarkets, restaurants, national retailers, and landlords.
John’s practice also includes the defense of product liability claims, including machinery, equipment, and other products. He is also involved in the defense of toxic tort claims on behalf of manufacturers of pumps, valves, boilers, engines, naval equipment, and military aircraft.
John also represents substance abuse clinics against malpractice claims and has represented numerous restaurants, bars, taverns and other social organizations against claims from third-parties for injuries or death from the sale of alcohol to intoxicated persons or minors.
John is experienced in alternative dispute resolution. He routinely represents clients at mediations and arbitrations and is a Certified Court-Annexed Arbitrator for the State of Rhode Island.
While in law school, John was awarded the CALI Award for excellence in the field of Contracts and came in first place in the Moot Court Competition judged by the Rhode Island Supreme Court.
John resides with his wife and two children.
