JAMES T. SCAMBY is a graduate of Boston College, B.A., 1992 and New England School of Law, J.D., 1995. He was the recipient of the American Jurisprudence award in Administrative Law in 1995. He clerked at Roche, Heifetz, Murphy & Wholley during law school and joined the firm as an associate in 1995. He was a partner in the Boston firm of Tucker, Heifetz & Saltzman, LLP from 2002 through 2012. Jim handles cases in all areas of the firm’s practice, including general liability, insurance coverage, insurance bad faith, professional liability, insurance agents and brokers’ errors and omissions, products liability, employment law, and commercial transactions. He has tried cases in the Massachusetts District and Superior Court and the United States District Court, and has represented clients at hearings before administrative agencies such as Commonwealth Automobile Reinsurers, the Division of Insurance, and the Division of Banks. He has also prepared and argued several appeals to the Massachusetts Appeals Court and Supreme Judicial Court.

Jim is admitted to practice law in Massachusetts, Pennsylvania and New Jersey, as well as the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts and the First Circuit Court of Appeals. He is a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association, Defense Research Institute, and the Massachusetts Defense Lawyers Association. He is a regular speaker at “The Big Event,” the Massachusetts Association of Insurance Agents’ Annual Convention and Trade Fair, and frequently serves on the faculty for Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education. He is the co-author of Errors & Omissions “Hotspots” and How to Address Them, The John Liner Review, Summer 2011.James T. Scamby
